Job summary

Aya Locums is seeking a Surgery Vascular physician for an immediate locum need in Covington, GA. The assignment runs 16 weeks with a 24-hour on-call schedule and standard 5 shifts, 07:00–07:00.

The role includes performing a range of general surgeries and providing full pre/intra/postoperative care. Board-certified in surgery (ABS) with an active GA license and ACLS are required; prior locum experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required with board certification in surgery.
• Active Georgia medical license and ACLS certification.
• Experience in locum or hospital-based surgical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies, among others.
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications.
• Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
• Provide patient education about post-operative care and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
