Job summary

CompHealth offers locum pathology assignments in Kentucky with a focus on high-volume cytology and diverse biopsy work. Positions involve 60–70 cases per day, including surgical and non-GYN cytology, with hospital privileges required.

Assignments can be short to long-term; cases may be shared with remote pathology team support. CompHealth arranges housing, travel, and comprehensive malpractice coverage, and provides dedicated recruiter support to simplify credentialing.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or eligible in Anatomic Pathology.
• Active medical license to practice in Kentucky or eligibility.
• Hospital privileges required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret a high-volume case load (60–70 per day) including surgical and non-gyn cytology.
• Perform GI, GYN, skin, breast, and lung biopsies and major resections.
• Handle pleural fluids, FNAs, EBUS, BALs, and related specimens.
• Collaborate with a small pathology team for case review and coverage.
• Maintain virtual/remote case support with pathology colleagues.

• Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm -- weeknight call required
• 60 - 70 cases per day -- surgical and non-gyn cytology
• Vacation coverage for 2026 and 2027
• Cases shared with remote pathology team support
• GI, GYN, skin, breast, lung biopsies and major resections required
• Non-GYN cytology -- pleural fluids, FNAs, EBUS, BALs, and more
• Practice supported by three pathologists -- approx. 16,000 cases annually
• Hospital privileges required
