Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare seeks a physician to provide call coverage in an inpatient setting with admissions required in Wilson, NC. Expect ~4 patient encounters and ~4 admissions per shift, with a 7 am to 7 am schedule and beeper call requiring rapid response.

Candidates should be proficient in laparoscopic procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy) with hernioplasty and Nissen fundoplication preferred. Required certifications include ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS; travel and housing costs are

Qualifications

• Required certifications ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS and PALS.
• Trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage with admissions required.
• Handle ~4 patient encounters and ~4 admissions per shift.
• Respond to beeper calls: phone within 15 min, on-site within 45 min.
• Perform laparoscopic procedures: appendectomy, cholecystectomy; hernioplasty; Nissen fundoplication preferred.
• Maintain certifications and participate in ongoing trauma care.
