Job summary

CompHealth provides locum tenens opportunities designed to simplify the process, including credentialing, housing, travel, and malpractice coverage. The role involves trauma surgery coverage with chest tube insertions, an inpatient/outpatient mix, and optional laparoscopic or vascular procedures.

Expect a dedicated recruiter to handle details and a housing/travel package included. Assignment specifics include 12-hour shifts with Thursday–Monday coverage options and a 1:4 on-call ratio.

Qualifications

• Trauma surgery and chest tube insertion required.
• Laparoscopic surgery skills preferred.
• Vascular surgery skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient practice setting with rounding on both inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Provide trauma surgery coverage with chest tube insertion as needed.
• Participate in ongoing coverage assignments and one-weekend rotation as applicable.
• Coordinate with the recruitment team for credentialing and scheduling.

• Thursday - Monday, 7 pm - 7 am -- 12-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage options: every weekend or every other weekend
• Beeper call -- 1:4 call ratio, 30-minute response time required
• Average 8 patients per 24-hour shift
• Inpatient practice setting -- rounding both inpatient and outpatient
• Trauma surgery and chest tube insertion required
• Laparoscopic surgery, vascular surgery skills preferred
• Ongoing coverage assignment
