Job summary

CompHealth is offering locum tenens assignments in surgery specialties in the Mississippi/Hattiesburg area. The role involves call-only coverage with a 30-minute response time and average five patients per shift.

Candidates should have experience in adult general surgery and trauma, with laparoscopic procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty), Nissen fundoplication, and critical care skills (ventilation, chest tube, central line). ATLS/BLS certifications required.

Qualifications

• Adult general surgery and trauma experience required.
• Laparoscopic techniques including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty.
• Nissen fundoplication experience preferred.
• Ventilation management, chest tube and central line insertion skills.
• PA catheter placement experience is a plus.
• ATLS and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide call coverage with a 30-minute response time.
• Manage an average of five patients per shift.
• Perform laparoscopic surgeries as needed in trauma and general surgery cases.
• Coordinate with credentialing and hospital staff; ensure patient safety.
