Job summary

CompHealth is seeking qualified locum tenens staff for an inpatient hospital setting in Hazard, Kentucky. The role involves managing a high-volume inpatient caseload with procedures including hernia, colorectal, bariatric surgeries, scopes, and related tasks.

Shift typically starts at 7am with holiday blocks; housing and travel arrangements are provided, and malpractice coverage is included. Hospital privileges are required, and you will be supported by experienced recruiters throughout

Qualifications

• Inpatient hospital setting experience required.
• High-volume call and patient management expected.
• Knowledge of hernia, colorectal, bariatric surgeries and related scopes.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high-volume inpatient caseload.
• Perform procedures: hernia, colorectal, bariatric, scopes, appendix, gallbladder.
• Coordinate with two NPs and manage housing, travel, and credentialing processes.

• 10 - 15 beds managed in department
• Inpatient hospital setting
• Supported by 2 NPs -- NP handles 50 clinic patients weekly
• High call volume required
• Procedures: hernia, colorectal, bariatric, scopes, appendix, gallbladder
• Additional skills: bowel resection, emergency general surgery, I&D, wound care
• Hospital privileges required
• We negotiate better pay and deposit it weekly
