Job summary

CompHealth is seeking a gastroenterologist to cover inpatient services in Bangor, Maine, with some outpatient duties. The role involves 12 patients per shift, 8-12 calls daily, and many endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and liver biopsy.

You will work with a recruiter who arranges housing, travel, and comprehensive malpractice coverage, and the credentialing process is simplified. The online portal provides assignment details and time entry for easy management.

Qualifications

• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG and liver biopsy required.
• Esophageal dilatation, manometry, banding and push enteroscopy required.
• Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management required.
• 12 patients per shift and 8–12 calls per shift with 3–4 admissions per day.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient GI care as needed.
• Perform indicated endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, PEG, liver biopsy).
• Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth patient flow and timely admissions.
• Collaborate with credentialing and housing logistics as part of locum support.

• Sigmoidoscopy, small bowel biopsy, dilations required
• Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management required
