Job summary

CompHealth is seeking a hospital-based gastroenterologist to provide inpatient GI coverage in North Carolina. The role includes Monday–Friday daytime shifts (7 am–5 pm) with weekend call, inpatient rounding, and performing endoscopy procedures.

Expect upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG and lower GI procedures, plus small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy as part of ongoing coverage. Housing and travel are arranged; credentialing is streamlined.

Qualifications

• Inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology coverage with endoscopy and GI procedures.
• Call ratio 1:4 with 15–30 minute response time.
• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG and lower GI procedures required; small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy skills preferred.

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage in a hospital setting.
• Perform endoscopy and GI procedures during shifts and on call.
• Manage beeper calls with timely response and coordinate with staff.

• Monday - Friday, 7 am - 5 pm (10-hour shifts) plus weekend call
• 10 - 15 patients per shift -- inpatient rounding
• Inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology coverage
• Call ratio 1:4 -- beeper call with 15 - 30 minute response time
• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and lower GI procedures required
• Small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy skills required
• Ongoing coverage -- one week per month plus one weekend call per month
