Job summary

Medlinkhealth Anesthesia Associates seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to cover thoracic surgery for a 5–6 month locum assignment at a Boston hospital.

Shifts are 12 hours (6:30 PM–7:00 AM), 2–3 per week, with floor coverage from Step Down, OR/Post-Op, and ICU. Credentialing is anticipated around 90 days; temporary privileges may be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in thoracic surgery.
• ABG experience preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NCCPA certification required.
• DEA license required.

• Provide thoracic surgery coverage for a 5–6 month locum assignment.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – THORACIC SURGERY

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

Seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for a 5–6 month locum assignment providing thoracic surgery coverage.

• Schedule: 2–3 shifts per week.
• Shift: 12 hours, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM.
• Setting: Hospital.
• EMR: EPIC.
• Patient population: Adult/Geriatric.
• Average census: 15–25 patients per shift.
• Primarily floor patients from Step Down, OR/Post-Op, and ICU.
• PA works primarily independently, with a fellow available as a clinical resource.
• Potential first responder to codes until the fellow arrives.
• May perform H&P for patients transferred from other hospitals.
• Coverage is for maternity leave.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Thoracic surgery experience
• Chest tube, Blake drain, and pigtail management
• ABG experience
• NGT and G/J feeding tube experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS
• NCCPA certification
• DEA required

Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges may be considered.
