Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant with GI expertise for a locum tenens position in Virginia. The role involves outpatient GI clinic work for adult patients (18+), with potential inpatient consults. PEG tube changes are preferred and paracentesis experience is a plus.

You will have physician support onsite when GI physicians are scheduled; no endoscopy is performed by APPs. The assignment lasts six weeks with Weatherby arranging housing and travel.

Qualifications

• Outpatient GI clinic experience with adult patients 18+.
• Inpatient consults experience is a plus.
• PEG tube change experience preferred; paracentesis helpful.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient GI clinic coverage for adults 18+; inpatient consults possible.
• Pre- and post-procedure care; no endoscopic procedures performed by APPs.
• Leave coverage for a 6-week locums assignment.
