The role spans outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology, with responsibilities including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, hospital rounding, and patient education, in collaboration with our physicians. Richmond Gastroenterology Associates (RGA) is seeking compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Physician Assistants (PAs) to join our growing team. We are currently expanding our Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team and are seeking clinicians who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care in both outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology settings.

The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders in collaboration with our gastroenterologists. Responsibilities include patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, follow-up care, hospital rounding, patient education, and care coordination.
Evaluate and manage patients in outpatient gastroenterology clinics
Conduct hospital rounds and consults
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
Develop and implement treatment plans
Educate patients regarding GI and hepatology conditions
Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, hospitals, and referring providers
Document patient encounters within the EMR
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current Virginia licensure or eligibility for Virginia licensure
National certification (NCCPA, or equivalent)
DEA license (or ability to obtain)
BLS certification
Gastroenterology experience
Internal Medicine experience
Hospitalist experience
ACLS certification
APP GI-C Certification (AGA GI Advanced Practice Certification)
GI Fellowship training
Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000+ annually
Compensation will be based on experience, specialty training, certifications, and relevant clinical expertise.
