GATX Corporation is hiring a Locomotive Technician 1 to assist with maintenance, repair, and inspection of locomotives across Gulf Coast sites. You will follow safety rules, perform inspections, and support customer billing with accurate work orders.

The role requires basic welding, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to learn FRA rules. You’ll work with a team and have opportunities to advance to Locomotive Technician 2 while enjoying strong benefits.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass DOT mandated physical required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).
• Broad mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Basic welding skills required.

Aufgaben

• Assists with scheduled and on-demand maintenance, repair and inspection of locomotives.
• Follow safety rules, wear PPE, operate tools and equipment safely.
• Read and interpret policies and regulations; maintain work areas.
• Support certification upkeep and training; progress toward Locomotive Technician 2.
