Job summary

Union Pacific Corporation is seeking a skilled technician to inspect, service, and repair locomotive pneumatic and hydraulic systems, fabricate or modify locomotive components, and maintain plumbing. You will operate shop machines, ensure safety, and troubleshoot malfunctions in air, fuel, water, and sanding systems.

Responsibilities include welding, fabricating parts, and maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers while adhering to railroad rules and FRA regulations.

Qualifications

• Proficient verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others in groups and offer help when needed.
• Experience reading and understanding instructions and regulatory documents.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate or modify locomotive and engine components; cut, shape, weld, and assemble using various metals.
• Maximize locomotive availability; operate shop machines and ensure safety.
• Safely operate clamps, torches, welding equipment, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions in diesel engines and air systems; complete repairs.
• Perform welding and cutting operations; ensure FRA compliance.
