Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking qualified locomotive mechanics to ensure safe and efficient servicing of our diesel locomotive fleet. You will work on the extensive locomotive fleet, adhering to company and federal standards to keep rail operations operating across North America.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engine and air brake issues, performing repairs or rebuilds, and performing inspections with attention to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• At least 4 years of education or work experience as a mechanic; journeyman’s card acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and tools for locomotive servicing.
• Communicate technical information clearly with team.
• Read diagrams and input data into computers as needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions in diesel engines and related systems.
• Repair or rebuild locomotives and diesel components.
• Ensure compliance with safety and FRA regulations.
