Job summary

Watco in Owosso, MI is hiring a Locomotive Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain locomotives in accordance with FRA regulations and company policies. You will perform mechanical maintenance and support safety standards on locomotives at our facilities.

Qualifications

• Provide level of customer service.
• Must pass FRA reporting requirements.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Able to obtain Class B CDL.
• Able to become a Service Engineer per FRA regulations.
• Three-year Railroad Apprenticeship may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain locomotives in line with FRA regulations and company policies.
• Dismantle devices using hoists, cranes, and tools to repair or replace parts.
• Record hour meter readings for inspections and maintenance.
• Perform air-brake tests and bearing checks.
• Identify issues by observing mechanical systems.
