Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Motor Equip Operator in Lorton, VA to perform maintenance and servicing of locomotives and facilities per FRA, FDA, and Amtrak standards. The role involves operating light cranes and handling cleaning, waste disposal, and general equipment maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, manual labor experience, and valid certifications. A valid driver’s license and ability to operate cranes, power tools, and rigging equipment are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform services on locomotives and equipment such as sanding, cleaning, washing, and scraping.
• Empty waste retention systems and dispose of hazardous waste per FDA/Amtrak standards.
• Operate and maintain machinery and tools, including light cranes, tractors, forklifts.
