Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Switching Co LLC in Osceola, AR is seeking qualified locomotive engineers to join our operations team.

You will assist in safe daily operation of trains, operate equipment per company policies, handle track switches, couple cars, and contribute to yard operations. Candidates should be safety-minded with basic reading and math skills, able to communicate over radio, work with diverse teams, and be prepared for outside work in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Must be safety-minded and have basic reading and math skills.
• Must develop teamwork and work with all levels of personnel to achieve train-handling objectives.
• Must be able to give and receive instructions over radio.

Responsibilities

• Assists in all phases of the safe daily operation of trains.
• Operates equipment according to company policies, procedures, and practices.
• Will operate track switches, couple cars and work on trains in yard operations.
• Will move and align various parts of rail equipment to create or build trains.
• Multi-tasking – must be able to perform several tasks safely that will require pulling, controlling, and maneuvering onto and off of equipment.
• Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars
• Increasing responsibilities expected and required, including the ability to handle Conductor duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
