Job summary

Kettle Falls International Railway, LLC is seeking an Engineer/Conductor to oversee trains, freight, and crew. You will operate switches, couple/uncouple cars, and move trains safely in yards and on roads while adhering to FRA rules and company procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years of train services experience, and the ability to pass post-offer health and operating rules exams. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of Train Services experience.
• Aptitude in the Transportation field and willingness to learn.
• Pass post-offer examinations including operating rules, vision and hearing tests.
• Comply with railroad instructions and read published rules and manuals.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with railroad safety and FRA rules.
• Move trains safely in yards and on roads.
• Operate throttle, brakes, gauges and switches.
• Assist and instruct train crews in coupling/uncoupling and minor repairs.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate with dispatch.
