Progress Rail in Winston Salem, NC is seeking a hands-on technician for locomotive engine assembly, testing and related prep work. The role covers mechanical, electrical and welding tasks with emphasis on quality, safety and efficiency.

You will read schematics, operate test equipment, and assist in other departments as needed. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, HS diploma or GED, and forklift/crane certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Must have basic PC knowledge for data entry and record keeping.
• Forklift and crane certification is required or preferred.
• Ability to read and follow schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.

Responsabilités

• Assemble and test locomotive engine components and related parts.
• Operate and maintain painting and prep equipment; ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot, repair and train others; follow safety and process guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area; meet production targets.
• Read and follow standard work instructions, and support continuous improvement.
