New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a Trades Specialist - Locksmith to oversee and perform full-time maintenance of locks, keys, and related hardware at a state facility. The role requires skilled locksmithing, ability to read blueprints, train staff, and manage lock/key records.

Carpentry tasks related to doors and hardware may be involved as part of the position. Candidate must have four years of full-time locksmithing experience (or apprenticeship-equivalent training) and be

Competenze

Four years of full-time locksmithing experience under a skilled journeyman, or apprenticeship-equivalent training.
Ability to read plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications.
Ability to train and supervise others.
Ability to plan and lay out work and diagnose problems.
Knowledge of lock hardware installation and maintenance.

Mansioni

Repair, install, and maintain locking mechanisms at the facility using hand and bench tools.
Establish and maintain extensive lock and key record systems; manage the lock/key system.
May perform carpentry tasks related to lock and key systems such as installing doors, windows and sash fitting.
