Job summary

New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a Trades General in New York to perform journey-level work in one trade and skilled work in other trades for repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. You may supervise maintenance, repair, installation and construction activities.

Four years of full-time trade experience under a skilled journeyman are required, with apprentice training or technical courses able to substitute for some experience.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journeyman.
• Apprentice training or technical courses may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level work in one trade and skilled work in other trades for repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Supervise others in maintenance, repair, installation and construction activities.
• Read and interpret plans, diagrams, blueprints and specifications.
