Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a skilled locksmith technician to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electronic lock systems at San Antonio International Airport. You will plan master lock configurations, service a variety of doors, interact with clients and ensure security compliance.

Responsibilities include emergency repairs, key coding and duplication, re-keys, inventory management and periodic inspections, with a focus on safety and airport regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
• Three (3) years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing lock systems.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment.
• Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check upon employment.
• Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times.

Job description

Under direction, is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of new and existing lock systems. Responsibilities include planning and setting up master lock systems on a variety of new and existing systems and interacting directly with clients. Exercises no supervision.

Work Hours

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday; weekends and/or holidays as required by business needs; rotate with on-call-duty

Applicant Information

• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
