Job summary

Renasant Bank in Brandon, MS is seeking a meticulous Lockbox Specialist to sort and open mail, and to prepare and process customer payments using our lockbox system. You will handle high volumes with accuracy and speed, ensuring deposits are posted correctly and securely.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and some data entry, balancing, office, clerical, bank operations, item processing, or other related experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of related experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of 10-key, data entry, and balancing principles
• Must have strong customer service skills and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of banking operations and lockbox processing programs
• Must be very detailed, organized, and accurate
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
• Acquire proficiency of custom software and electronic communications

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed instructions to sort, monitor, and process a high volume of mail
• Maintain error-free processing on a consistent basis
• Process deposits accepted through the lockbox processing system
• Provide customer feedback with back-up documentation as requested
• Log and track incoming remittance mail; sort, open and verify outgoing remittance mail
• Perform clerical duties and respond to lockbox customer inquiries
• Enter data with minimal errors and report issues delaying processing
• Notify support area of problems that could delay item processing
• Possibly track and monitor reports
• May lead or train new employees
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information
• Prepare customer payments for processing and use custom software for processing
• Perform other related duties as assigned
