Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Locator Technician to support gas and electric utilities across North Carolina and South Carolina. This full-time, permanent role requires travel and a hands-on approach to locating underground utilities.

You will locate and mark utilities using maps and blueprints, document findings in software, and communicate with clients and team members. DOT drug screening and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to travel.
• Prior field or locator experience preferred.
• Pass DOT (compliant) drug screen and future random DOT drug screens.
• Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all field locate & mark activities adhere to company specifications and standards.
• Maintain ongoing compliance of all line locate & mark procedures and provide field assurance services to the client’s operations.
• Maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPRs).
• Use maps and blueprints to locate and mark utilities (gas/electric lines as applicable).
• Document interactions, site information and utilities in organizational software.
• Communicate with customers and internal leadership.
• Utilize techniques including electronic, magnetic, blueprint analysis, and radar to locate utilities.
• Provide daily and weekly production data reports.
• Post informational door tags/letters notifying residents of inspection procedures.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors and team members.

We have a current need for a Locator Technician based in Charlotte, NC (travelling all around North Carolina and South Carolina). This is a Full Time, Permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all field locate & mark activities adhere to the company specifications and standards.
• Responsible for the ongoing compliance of all line locate & mark procedures and providing the best possible field assurance services to the client’s operations.
• Maintain well documented Daily Progress Reports (DPRs)
• Utilize maps and blueprints to identify and mark the location of utilities such as gas and electric lines if applicable.
• Document interactions, site information and utilities in organizational software.
• Communicate with customers and internal leadership.
• Use a variety of techniques including electronic, magnetic, blueprint analysis, and/or radar to locate utilities.
• Provide daily and weekly production data reports.
• Post informational door tags/letters notifying residents of our inspection procedures,
• Maintain a professional relationship with client and their contractors other team members, and consistently deliver excellent client work.
