Job summary

UST Logistical Systems is seeking a Location Manager to own day-to-day operations with a focus on developing relationships with Clients, Contractors, Customers, and Employees. The role emphasizes E3—Execute Excellence Every time—across operations and last-mile delivery.

Responsibilities include evaluating contractor skills, coordinating with customer service, and ensuring DOT/OSHA compliance while monitoring KPIs and settlements.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Higher education or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience in a 3PL model.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Conducts ride behinds and evaluations of contractors to determine skill levels and development opportunities.
• Oversees loading/unloading of trucks and ensures efficient operations.
• Coordinates with customer service to ensure customers are satisfied.
• Potentially oversees an administrative support team depending on location size.
• Ensures all claims are charged back to the appropriate driver.
• Ensures DOT and OSHA compliance across operations.
• Monitors KPIs and financial objectives for a healthy operation.
• Monitors weekly settlements and contractor goals.
• Oversees last-mile delivery loading for retail home products to end customers.
• Recruits Independent Owner Operators and assists in recruiting their teams.
• Oversees Syracuse location operations remotely, with twice-monthly on-site visits.
• Supports routing, billing and delivery team management for Syracuse.
