Job summary

Saltbox is opening its first Chicago-area location in Elmhurst, IL, and is hiring a Location Manager to lead the site as a business from day one. You will own occupancy, retention, team performance, and operational health, building playbooks and standards for the market.

You will leverage AI in daily management, lead a team, and manage budgets, labor, and vendor relationships. This full-time salaried role offers growth in a startup-like environment with central support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing a physical location or operations environment.
• Ability to own a location as a business, not just run operations.
• Willingness to develop people and lead through others.
• Strong client/member relationship and communication skills.
• Familiarity with business metrics and operational systems.
• Comfortable with basic financial concepts like occupancy, labor cost, and margins.
• Proficiency with Saltbox reporting tools and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Own the location’s business performance: occupancy, member satisfaction, revenue targets, and budget adherence.
• Lead and develop your team, including headcount decisions and performance reviews.
• Drive member retention and lead tours/onboarding for high-value prospects.
• Represent the location in strategy, SOPs, and performance reporting.
• Utilize Saltbox tools (Pulse, reporting dashboards) to monitor and improve operations.
