Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking a Location Manager to oversee a regional customer service site. You will lead a 5–30 person team to deliver products and services with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and proven supervisory experience in a regulated industrial environment, with strong emphasis on safety, training, budgeting, and asset management. This is a hands-on, field-based leadership position.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and hire employees and orient them for success.

  • Assist investigations of accidents and safety concerns and take corrective action.
  • Oversee site security standards and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Provide required safety, health and task training for all staff.
  • Participate in safety audits to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain condition and maintenance of property, facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure inventory security and accountability of assets.
  • Anticipate product needs and manage orders and deliveries.
  • Record inventory movements to meet federal requirements.
  • Manage location operating budget and monthly expenses.
  • Plan capital expenditures for facilities and equipment.
  • Track production hours and report to DoL/MSHA.
  • Coordinate with sales to meet customer requirements and schedule work.
  • Improve service requirements to boost customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate customer and community concerns to company personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Location Manager is the facility administrator and resource manager for an Austin Powder regional customer service location. The Location Manager will develop and lead a team of 5-30 direct reports through all activities to provide products and services delivering customer satisfaction through operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Recruit and hire employees, orient and train them for success in their positions.
  • Conduct job-oriented training and mentorship to support their efficiency and success.
  • Communicate work assignments and outcome expectations with feedback and accountability.
  • Encourage and nurture employee growth and development into higher levels of responsibility.
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents and/or employee relations and safety incidents and provide corrective action as appropriate.
  • Adhere and oversee site security standards and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Conduct and/or provide all required safety, health and task training for all location personnel as required.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly safety audits and observations; maintain a safe work environment.
  • Accountable for the condition and maintenance of property, facilities and fixed and mobile equipment.
  • Provide vigilant security for and accountability of inventory assets.
  • Anticipate product needs and manage orders and deliveries to maintain inventory levels.
  • Administer the electronic recordkeeping of inventory movements and usage to meet federal requirements.
  • Manage the location annual operating budget and monthly expenses.
  • Project capital expenditures for fixed facilities and mobile equipment.
  • Track and report metal/non-metal and coal production hours to Department of Labor/MSHA.
  • Coordinate with sales team to understand customer requirements and allocate and schedule work teams, vehicles and products to meet customer expectations.
  • Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate customer and community concerns to appropriate company personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for some of the educational requirements.
  • Experience leading and supervising a team, including training, individual and team development, performance management and coaching.
  • Supervisory experience in an industrial or construction environment with responsibility for compliance with safety, environmental, inventory, maintenance and other regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in the explosives industry is ideal, including experience with product delivery and down‑hole blasting operations.
  • Clean work, legal and driving history that will satisfy the scrutiny of an ATF background check.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a cooperative and pleasant demeanor.
Work Environment

This position at times will be required to work outside in all weather conditions in a hands‑on environment. Ability to walk, stand, sit, use hands to operate controls and work with tools, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear is necessary for this role.
