Job summary

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, execution of internal controls, and collaboration with enterprise-wide departments. CPA or CMA preferred, with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience and leadership ability.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
• 8+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting
• Leadership attributes, team leadership, or supervisory experience preferred
• Certification and/or License - CPA or CMA preferred; other certifications or licenses may be required during course of employment

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial aspects for assigned location, including analysis, forecasts, budgeting, and reporting.
• Coordinate local compliance with DFA policies and procedures and ensure cooperation with enterprise-wide functional departments.
• Maintain adequate accounting system records, ensure timely completion of standard procedures and enhance controls to mitigate financial risk.
• Prepare annual budget, financial reports, cost reports, financial forecasts, regulatory reports, and monthly milk reporting with variance analysis.
• Direct monthly general ledger closing process, manage journal entries, and perform variance analyses and cost savings reviews.
• Prepare and distribute periodic financial analyses or business summaries with insightful commentary on issues and opportunities.
• Provide routine or ad hoc analyses and communicate variances to leadership; identify cost savings opportunities.
• Lead process improvement efforts, drive efficiency, and monitor KPI performance with the team.
