Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA, seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test to validate and advance GNSS/location algorithms powering Maps, Fitness, and more.

You will design experiments and build analysis pipelines for real‑world and simulated environments, ensuring robustness of the location stack. Responsibilities include validating accuracy (CEP50/95), TTFF, and continuity; debugging logs; developing scripts; and collaborating with algorithm, hardware, and firmware teams to drive improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/EE/Applied Math or related field.
• 3+ years in GNSS algorithm testing, positioning validation, or wireless verification.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with GNSS simulation equipment and RF playback systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute validation plans measuring positioning accuracy, TTFF, yield, and continuity for GNSS and hybrid/location algorithms.
• Debug GNSS/cellular/Wi‑Fi logs; develop scripts and statistical models to quantify impact.
• Build automated test routines and data‑analysis pipelines integrated with existing test harnesses.
• Define GNSS simulation scenarios for functional, performance, and conformance validation.
• Establish pass/fail criteria and dashboards tracking KPIs across product lines and OS releases.
• Collaborate with algorithm, hardware, and firmware engineers to drive improvements.
