Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking an experienced welder to perform welding functions according to jobsite specifications. Locals only; no travel or per diem.

Candidates must pass a practical welding skill test (.436 SMAW 6G, .344 GTAW 6G, or .5" FCAW) and maintain safety training, background check, and drug testing compliance. The role involves welding pipe and structural components with NDE testing, plus capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and work up to 12 hours in variable weather.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years welding experience.
• Must pass a practical welding skill test.
• Complete Matrix Service safety training and site-specific training.
• Must maintain active status in drug testing program.
• Must pass background check.
• TWIC card required or preferred.
• Journeyperson status preferred or hours verified.

Responsibilities

• Weld piping of various kinds and sizes per specs.
• Weld high- and low-pressure pipe with NDE testing (visual, hydro, x-ray).
• Weld structural steel, handrails, brackets, non-piping components.
• Identify hazards and follow safety protocols.
• Work with QA/QC department and peers to ensure quality.
