Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking an experienced welder in Washington to perform welds to jobsite specifications. Local candidates only, no travel or per diem. You will pass a practical welding test and work with diverse welding processes on high/low pressure pipe and structural components.

Responsibilities include layout planning, QC, adhering to safety codes, and completion of required safety and site-specific trainings. A range of benefits accompanies the role for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years or more welding experience.
• Must pass a practical welding skill test.
• Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
• MUST obtain and maintain active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
• MUST pass background check.
• TWIC card is required.
• 20-hour high hazard facility training card is preferred.
• MUST have Verification of 8,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment and plan layout and assembly of welding.
• Weld pipe of various kinds, sizes and alloys by ARC/SMAW/GTAW/GMAW/GAS/MIG/TIG.
• Weld high- and low-pressure pipe per specifications with NDE testing (visual, hydro, x-ray).
• Fit up pipe and grind as required.
• Weld on structural steel, handrails, brackets and non-piping components.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action.
