Job summary

CPKC is seeking a Track Laborer in Minneapolis, MN to support maintenance, repair, and construction of railway tracks. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to FRA guidelines, and local responsibilities with no required travel outside the territory.

The candidate will work with hand tools, operate company vehicles, and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather. Strong communication and safety awareness are essential for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass physical tasks and safety training.
• Strong communication and ability to understand safety instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Replace and repair track defects, install ties and spikes.
• Utilize hand tools (shovels, axes, hammers, etc.).
• Clear brush and debris, maintain drainage, and ensure track safety.
• Respond to emergencies and track outages.
• Operate company vehicles as needed.
• Stand, lift, and squat for long periods; lift 50 lbs or more.
• Shifts and start times may change daily; night or day shifts possible.
