Job summary

Leick Construction Inc. is seeking a dependable Side Dump Driver who will safely transport dirt, sand, gravel, and other materials between local job sites in the Glenwood, IA area.

You will perform daily inspections and coordinate with project managers and crews to keep projects moving efficiently. The role requires a valid Class A CDL with possible tanker endorsement, a DOT drug screen, and the ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.

Qualifications

• Experience in truck/side-dump delivery or similar driving roles.
• Ability to operate side-dump-tractor-trailers and dump trucks safely.
• Strong communication with project teams and site staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport materials between local job sites using side-dump-tractor-trailers and dump trucks.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Support the jobsite by coordinating with project managers and field crews to keep work progressing.
• Complete daily logs and required documentation following DOT regulations.

What You’ll Do:

• Safely Transport Materials: Operate side-dump-tractor-trailers and dump trucks to haul dirt, sand, gravel, rock, and other materials between job sites throughout the local area. Safety and professionalism are expected on every trip.
• Care for Your Equipment: Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, communicate maintenance concerns promptly, and help keep company equipment in excellent condition so it remains safe and dependable.
• Support the Jobsite: Work closely with project managers, equipment operators, and field crews to keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining clear communication throughout the day.
• Stay Organized: Complete daily logs, inspections, and required documentation accurately while following company safety policies and DOT regulations.

What You Need

• Experience: Previous experience as a Truck Driver, Dump Truck Driver, Side Dump Driver, Construction Truck Driver, or similar commercial driving role preferred. At least one year of commercial driving experience is preferred.
• Licenses: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Tanker endorsement is a plus, but not required.
• You'll Be Successful If You: Take pride in operating equipment safely. Communicate well with coworkers and project teams. Are dependable and show up ready to work. Enjoy working outdoors and being part of a team.
• Requirements: Reliable transportation to and from our Glenwood, Iowa shop. Ability to pass a DOT drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and previous employer verification.
