Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Detroit is hiring a Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver for local routes. You will operate a Salvation Army truck, pick up and deliver donations, and provide friendly, professional service to donors while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires a valid driver's license, at least two years of driving experience, and the ability to pass DOT screening, background checks, and a drug test. CDL preferred but not always required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years licensed driving experience.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Maintain equipment in good working order and report issues.
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Train and certify new production assistants as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent The Salvation Army professionally.
