Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Detroit is seeking a dedicated Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver for local routes. You will transport donations, follow scheduled routes, and uphold safety standards while representing the charity with donors in a courteous manner.

Role requires a valid driver's license, DOT screening, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Full-time with a schedule including some weekends and holidays. Training and PPE provided to support efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills in English are required.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries following routes.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles; ensure safe handling of goods.
• Load/unload items; maintain equipment and PPE; report safety concerns.
• Communicate donation acceptance policy and provide courteous donor service.
