Job summary

Republic Services in the United States (Kentucky) is seeking a Driver- CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck and provide courteous waste removal services. The role requires compliance with safety standards, daily vehicle checks, and accurate reporting on VCRs and productivity sheets.

Responsibilities include route service, waste handling, and customer interaction, with emphasis on safety, punctuality, and adherence to company policies as part of a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or by the dispatcher.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of material at the designated facility.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers and others daily to ensure routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
• Clean area around an accidental waste spill, adhering to all safety standards and policies.
• Monitor the vehicle condition to ensure it is operationally ready to minimize downtime; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports as required.
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards for the department to ensure timely service for customers.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; act in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers.
• Good time management skills to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
• Good follow through ability; adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges.
