Job summary

Wooster Motor Ways, Inc. is seeking a dependable Class A CDL driver for local pneumatic freight. You’ll haul freight on regional lanes, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain DOT/FMCSA logs; home daily on most routes.

Starting compensation is 25% of line haul with a 90-day increase to 28%. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision; 401(k); paid vacation and holidays; HazMat cert paid by the company; and paid downtime for stops.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL — required.
• HazMat endorsement preferred not required.
• TWIC card preferred not required.
• Must pass and maintain all DOT/FMCSA physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight, general commodities, and specialized cargo.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
• Load, secure, and inspect cargo; follow special handling procedures for hazmat or temperature-sensitive freight.
• Maintain accurate HOS logs and all required DOT/FMCSA documentation.
• Verify bills of lading, collect signatures/receipts, and ensure all paperwork is complete and correct.
• Plan routes and schedules to meet pickup and delivery windows.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance (fluids, minor repairs); keep trailer clean and ready.
