Job summary

United Building Materials - Columbus is hiring a Delivery Helper to load materials, locate jobsites, assist with backing procedures, and prepare trucks for the next day while maintaining the truck and equipment. We\'re looking for reliable team players who can follow safety procedures, lift up to 100 lbs, and navigate local routes.

Prior experience in construction or material delivery is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is recommended.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and handle building materials.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT requirements for the safety of all personnel.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy.
• Safely unload product and deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
• Secure mud, equipment, metal, pallets, and other materials on the truck.
• Navigate routes to jobsites.
• Assist with maintaining trucks and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
• Help prepare trucks and materials for the following day's deliveries.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
