Job summary

MG Mayberry Services LLC in Houston is seeking an experienced heavy haul driver for year-round local work. You will haul dozers, excavators, and other heavy equipment on lowboy/RGN trailers between our yard and active job sites across the Greater Houston area.

This role offers a 5‑day schedule with home every night, paid weekly, and overtime during peak seasons. Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL, 3+ years of experience, and a current DOT medical card, with a strong safety record.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• 3+ years of professional Class A CDL driving experience, including at least 1 year hauling equipment on lowboy or RGN trailers.
• Experience loading and securing tracked and wheeled heavy equipment, including side-loading.
• Manual transmission experience.
• Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain; pre-employment drug screen.
• MVR in good standing per company/insurance requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Haul heavy earthwork equipment between yard and active job sites across Greater Houston.
• Load, unload, chain, strap, and secure machines on lowboy/RGN trailers with side-loading when needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT-compliant logs.
• Spot trailers and coordinate with loading crews using hand signals.
• Handle basic maintenance and report bigger issues to the shop.
• Plan routes for oversize/overweight moves when required.

What You'll Do

• Haul heavy earthwork equipment (dozers, excavators, tractors, skidders) between our yard and active job sites across Greater Houston
• Load, unload, chain, strap, and secure machines on lowboy / RGN trailers — including side loading on tight or restricted job sites — and verify every load before it rolls
• Run thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep DOT-compliant logs (hours, service, repair status)
• Spot trailers into position working hand signals with the loading crew
• Handle basic maintenance — fluids, minor fixes — and flag anything bigger to the shop
• Confirm delivery instructions and plan routes for oversize/overweight moves when required

Qualifications: What You Need (Must-Haves)

• Valid Class A CDL
• 3+ years of professional Class A CDL driving experience, including at least 1 year hauling equipment using lowboy or RGN trailers
• Experience loading and securing tracked and wheeled heavy equipment, including side-loading ability where site conditions don't allow a straight rear approach
• Manual transmission experience
• Current DOT medical card (or ability to obtain), pre-employment drug screen per FMCSA
• Acceptable MVR consistent with company and insurance requirements
• High school diploma or GED

Bonus Points For

• Oversize / overweight permit load experience (escort coordination, route surveys)
• Half-round or end dump trailer experience
• Heavy equipment operating experience (you can walk a machine on and off yourself)
• TWIC card or experience on public infrastructure projects

Working Conditions

This is hands‑on outdoor construction work. You'll be climbing on and off trailers, throwing chains and binders (up to 50 lbs), and working in Houston heat and weather — with most driving time in a climate‑controlled cab. Vision, hearing, and physical capability consistent with DOT commercial driving requirements apply.
