Job summary

Southern Freight Lines is hiring a P&D Driver to pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally, serving customers on a regular basis. As a tractor-trailer operator, you will perform vehicle inspections, handle loading and unloading, ensure accuracy of transport documents (especially for hazardous materials), and maintain safe driving practices daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months driving experience; 1 year preferred.
• CDL with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers endorsements; no automatic restrictions.
• Must be 21+ and able to read/write English.
• Knowledge of DOT rules, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and hazmat regulations.
• Must be able to pass alcohol and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and manage loading/unloading.
• Ensure accuracy of transport documents, especially for hazardous materials.
• Report incidents or delays; maintain safety and customer service standards.
