Salary: $3,600.84 - $4,719.60 Monthly

Description

The Department for Local Government (DLG) serves the Commonwealth’s local governments. The agency providesassistance in the way of grant and loan assistance, as well as advises counties, cities and special districtsin matters of budget, personnel and other issues relevant to those entities.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee training, technical assistance and support to local and state governmental agenciesregarding program requirements of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Appalachian RegionalCommission (ARC), and Preservation and Reinvestment Initiative Community Enhancement (PRICE) program, i.e.,complex project planning, application preparation, project implementation and reporting.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of administrative experience in business, industry, federal, state, or local government.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required college on a year-for- year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Working Conditions

Work typically involves extensive contact with the public. Travel may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
