Job summary

ICAT Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Local Driver to safely handle and move equipment and cargo to and from customer docks within their city or state. You will legally meet service expectations, load/unload freight as directed, and ensure proper documentation for all trips and shipments.

The role requires lifting, secure handling of various cargo types, and compliance with FMCSA regulations. You’ll work with Dispatch, drivers, and customers to resolve issues and may assist in training new drivers.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 23 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• 1–3 years of delivery/transportation/logistics or freight-handling experience preferred.
• Ability to safely lift/move freight as required.
• Ability to read Bills of Lading and shipping documents.
• Ability to use tablets/smartphones for documentation.
• Physically qualified to operate a commercial vehicle per Title 49 CFR 391.41.
• Follow FMCSA regulations when transporting goods.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed customer service expectations.
• Load/unload freight as instructed by Dispatch.
• Use dock equipment safely within design limits.
• Maintain proper documentation for pre/post trips, timecards, manifests, weight tickets, and related paperwork.
• Manage shipment documents (BOLs, PODs, security paperwork).
• Inspect and ensure proper labeling and carton counts before loading/unloading.
• Communicate with staff to resolve issues promptly.
• Assist in training new drivers as needed.
• Observe TSA policies and procedures.
• May be on-call or work weekends/extended hours as shipment volumes require.
