Job summary

American Spotting Company of Missouri is seeking full-time yard spotters in Saint Louis, MO to move trailers between dock doors and support our warehouse operations at a single customer site.

Starting pay is $19.50 per hour with a 90-day probation raise. Overtime is available for hours over 40 per week, and benefits include health and life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation. Equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.

• Excellent backing and maneuvering of trailers in a yard.

The position will start at $19.50 /hour with eligibility for raise following successful 90-day probation.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers, safely and efficiently, to support warehouse and distribution needs by placing and pulling trailers between dock doors
• Professionally interface with the customer, local management team, and on-site vendors in a professional manner
• Maintain a Safety-First attitude

To Successfully Secure This Opportunity, Candidate Must

• Maintain a valid Class A CDL license
• Be at least 23 years of age
• Have prior experience as a yard spotter, exhibiting the following:
  • Good Safety Record
  • Good physical condition; must be able to get in and out of trucks several times per day
  • Good backing skills
  • Ability to operate in extreme heat and cold, depending on elements
  • Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Have a great attitude and strong work ethic
• Have 2 years recent, verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience or related
• Not have any DUI/DWI, Careless/Reckless driving citations, or revoked/suspended license in the past 5 years
• Not have more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
• Exhibit an on-site driving skills assessment test (current 3-Year MVR required to be supplied at interview)
• Pass a complete DOT physical, a pre-employment drug screen, and criminal background check
