Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a reliable Class A CDL Delivery Service Associate for local routes around our distribution center. You will typically have daily home time, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

The role focuses on safe operation of flatbed and curtain-side trailers and delivering products accurately to customers. Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL, meet DOT standards, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Class A CDL.
• Must meet DOT qualification standards including drug screening and Med Card.
• Must have an acceptable driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
• Minimum of 3 years of similar driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a DOT drug and alcohol test, motor vehicle record check, and criminal background screening.

Responsibilities

• Willing and able to work safely at all times and follow safety procedures.
• Drives and operates semi-truck and other non-cdl trucks according to laws.
• Transports loads safely and on time, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maneuvers truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follows signals.
• Loads/unloads goods using appropriate equipment and returns equipment to designated area.
• Maintains invoices, bills of lading, and paperwork; submits to the shipping office.
• Performs daily pre-trip, post-trip, and routine inspections for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures loaded material matches documents and is in good condition.
• Secure cargo to prevent damage; ensure proper weight distribution for DOT compliance.
• Maintain electronic logs, trip reports, and on-board computer; keep up to date and compliant.
• Communicate delivery problems to the branch and interact with customers courteously.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
