Job summary

STATE STEEL OF DES MOINES in Des Moines, IA, is hiring a CDL-A Regional Flatbed Driver domicile in Omaha, NE for full-time work. You will safely operate a tractor and flatbed on regional routes, delivering steel—including oversized loads—and you’ll chain, strap, and tarp loads to ensure first-time accuracy.

Responsibilities include daily check-ins with supervision, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining logs, and coordinating with the sales team and customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Current DOT medical card
• Excellent driving record
• Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
• Experience securing different types of cargo, including oversized loads
• The strength to chain, tarp, and secure heavy loads in any weather

• Chain, strap, and tarp every load, and do it right the first time
• Check in and out with your supervisor each day for assignments
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep your equipment in top shape
• Keep accurate HOS logs, DVIRs, proof of delivery, and fuel receipts
• Stay in contact with your supervisor, our sales team, and customers
• Report any incidents or safety concerns right away

Required:

• Valid Class A CDL
