Job summary

State Steel of Omaha is seeking a CDL-A Regional Flatbed Driver to join our Omaha, NE team. You will safely operate a tractor and flatbed trailer on regional routes, secure loads, complete inspections, and maintain compliance with DOT standards.

You'll be home every night and all weekend, with comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture. Ideal candidates have flatbed experience and a solid driving record.

Qualifications

• Required: Valid Class A CDL
• Required: Current DOT medical card
• Required: Excellent driving record
• Required: Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
• Experience securing different types of cargo, including oversized loads
• The strength to chain, tarp, and secure heavy loads in any weather
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Accountability, integrity, and a safety-first mindset
• Preferred: 2+ years of driving experience
• Preferred: 1+ years of flatbed experience

Responsibilities

• Safely run a tractor and flatbed trailer on regional routes, delivering steel, including oversized and unusual loads
• Chain, strap, and tarp every load, and do it right the first time
• Check in and out with your supervisor each day for assignments
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep your equipment in top shape
• Keep accurate HOS logs, DVIRs, proof of delivery, and fuel receipts
• Stay in contact with your supervisor, our sales team, and customers
• Report any incidents or safety concerns right away
