Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Class B CDL.
• Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire.
• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks with front or rear end load lift attachment and provide pickup service of containers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks using DVIR.
• Report unsafe situations or issues to Route Manager or Dispatch immediately.
• Attend scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Work with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify Route Manager of incidents, service interruptions, or safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Ensure containers on the route reconcile to the service level and are returned clean.
• Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
• Position and return containers with lids properly replaced; ensure doors are closed and traffic is not blocked.
• Follow route assignments, complete end-of-day documentation and checkout process.
• Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
