Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is recruiting for a local CDL driver in Durham, NC, to operate residential collection vehicles and service neighborhoods on a daytime schedule. You will consistently be home each night and contribute to sustainable waste management in the community.

The role requires a valid CDL (A or B) with a clean driving record, 1+ years of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate, and a strong safety mindset. Teamwork and excellent resident interaction are essential.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
• 1+ years of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
• Able to maneuver in and out of the cab and handle outdoor conditions.
• Strong commitment to traffic laws, safety procedures and defensive driving.
• Professional customer service demeanor when interacting with residents.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate residential collection vehicles across Durham.
• Collect solid waste, recyclables, and yard waste per daily routes.
• Provide courteous, professional service to residents.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
• Coordinate with helpers, mechanics and supervisors to keep routes running smoothly.
