Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Wilson, NC is seeking a CDL driver to operate automated or side-load residential collection trucks on assigned routes, ensuring reliable local service and safe operation.

You will perform pre- and post-trip safety checks, assist with cart handling, and represent the company with a friendly, professional demeanor while keeping streets clean and safe. Excellent driving skills and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B license.
• 1+ years of CDL driving experience (residential route preferred).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and enter/exit cab frequently.
• Excellent spatial awareness for navigating tight streets.

Responsibilities

• Neighborhood service: Drive automated or side-load residential collection trucks through assigned neighborhood routes.
• Smart operation: Safely operate hydraulic mechanisms to lift, dump, and return residential waste and recycling carts.
• Community champion: Represent GFL with a friendly attitude and keep residential streets clean and safe.
• Safety & maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety checks to ensure the rig is in top shape.
