Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver with a CDL-B to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt waste removal services to customers in the Austin area. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, perform daily vehicle inspections, and complete required reports.

The role requires good customer service skills, time management, and adherence to company safety policies. Benefits and retirement plans are provided in addition to competitive wages.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle according to policy and report safety issues.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and service each customer as identified.
• Operate controls to lift, load refuse, and dispose of material at the facility.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure timely service.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean the packer blade and truck body as needed.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports.
